Parliamentary Assistant
You will be a highly motivated and well organised Parliamentary Assistant. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a small team, supporting the MSP in all aspects of her work relating to the Parliament. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills and accuracy and attention to detail are essential and you must have the ability to take the initiative and deal with issues. You will also have a good range of IT skills and knowledge and understanding of the Scottish political scene. Previous management experience is desirable.
This is a part-time post working 28 hours per week. The salary range is £16,400 rising to £18,000 per annum, depending on experience and satisfactory performance. The post also attracts 10% employer’s contribution towards an approved pension plan.
Policy and Press Assistant
You will be a highly motivated and suitably experienced Policy and Press Assistant with a strong understanding of the Scottish political scene. You will research and produce high quality written communications material, such as drafting policy statements, speechwriting, briefings and event planning. You will have the ability to manage the media and publicity events and work with others to maximise opportunities for communicating the work of the MSP to her constituents and interest groups.
This is a part-time post working 21 hours per week, although there may be the possibility of it becoming full-time through work with another MSP. For part-time working, the post attracts a salary range between £17,000 rising to £19,000 per annum pro rata depending on experience and satisfactory performance. The post also attracts 10% employer’s contribution towards an approved pension plan.

New Media Campaigns Assistant
£25k - £28k
Based within the Labour Party's London Head Office
The Labour Party is seeking to a recruit a New Media Campaigns Assistant to work within our new and innovative New Media Campaigns Taskforce. As part of a team responsible for enhancing and developing Labour's presence on the web the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge and understanding of the field of web campaigning and communications.
You will be expected to draft copy for a range of new media communications, play a key role in the creation, implementation and maintenance of content across Labour’s web platform, and produce and edit videos for Labour Party websites.
You should be highly committed and flexible with an aptitude for hard work. You must have some experience or knowledge of web campaigning, email marketing or internet advertising, a good knowledge of the Labour Party organisation, excellent communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
